Summary of Former Residence of Lord Hotta

  • "Former Residence of Lord Hotta" is residence, garden which Masatomo Hotta (hottamasatomo) who was the last Sakura feudal lord established in Sakura which is former territory in (1890) in 1890.
  • Entrance ridge, room ridge, living room ridge, study ridge, bathroom of residence part and storehouse, seven of gate-keeper place are appointed as "the old Hottas housing" on July 5, 2006 by important cultural property (building) of country.

  • The whole area including garden was appointed as "The Hotta’s Garden" in natural beauty spot of country on March 10, 2015. Please refer to this page about designation of garden.

  • We are opening the first floor of entrance ridge, room ridge, living room ridge, bathroom and garden to the public now. You can observe the second floor of study ridge, living room ridge, gate-keeper place on several times a year of special Pub. Dates.

  • Getting off at JR Sakura Station  → A 20-minute walk
  • Getting off at Keisei-Sakura Station → 20-minute walk or Shisui, Narita area line bus "public welfare garden entrance" drop off walk five minutes

  • Large car cannot park. (large car, please use municipal parking lot in front of municipal art museum.)
